NOTE:
A hex head brass plug is provided for the temperature port in case you don't have the gauges yet. You can pull the plug with the engine cold and cover the hole with your thumb and then install the temperature gauge sending unit. By having everything ready in advance and by having an assistant hand you the sending unit, you should only lose a couple of tablespoons of transmission fluid.
